Improving in Chess

I don’t know how long I’ve been playing but I’ve played about 8500 games. I am currently at ~750 for rapid (mostly 5|5 games). I’ve gotten as high as 870 but never reached 900.

I’ll go on a stretch where I’ll fall as low as 580-590.

Question: is this just who I am as a player? A 600-900 players?

It’s fine. I love playing. I’m not frustrated or angry about it. I actually send invites to more friends and family to play matches. I’m just wondering if, based on the number of games and the trend of hovering around 7-800 if this is just where I will “live” as a player. If so, I’ll still keep playing everyday.

Play rapid (15|10), analyze your loses, do puzzles. Simple guide to 1,000, maybe even refamiliarize yourself with the fundamentals, it can't hurt, and they make for a good foundation. Chess Fundamentals by José Raúl Capablanca is said to be the best chess book written by Grandmaster, and 5 time World Champion Mikhail Botvinnik.
