How do I get from 1500 to a higher rating, I notice tactics trainer helps a little, would openings help or studying games or just playing.

Please let me know any helpful ideas, I would like to get to 2000.

You say you used to be an expert.  Did you have a USCF rating or are you estimating based on something else?

I'm estimating on how I did in postal chess.  OTB it was probably lower.

Read Silman's Endgame Course and study it seriously.  Then move onto Dvoretsky's Endgame Manual.

Thank you for your comment, postal chess games don't usally go into an end game, because of postage, I'll study end games.
