in the magazine new in chess what is the difference between yearbook and magazine?

I think the Yearbook covers various openings and defences in depth. For example, it might cover a new move in the Slav Defense or a new way of attacking with the King's Indian Defense.
The magazine covers tournments, perhaps new books or videos, perhaps a player profile or two, endings, some tactics and generally speaking the latest news about the chess world.

The magazine is quite readable with interviews, photographs, interesting anecdotes about recent tournaments as well as annotated games by top players. The yearbook is a specialist publication with a lot of articles on very specific lines by sometimes lesser known players who are keen on openings. You'd probably enjoy the magazine more than the yearbook.
