In clearer terms, what do you think this means?

Externally you should be a polite library patron. Internally you should be a UFC fighter.

I like this one! Cool

That is a very interesting quote, thanks for sharing!

I personally have noticed, that approaches such as trying to destroy your opponent or playing like an assassin, which in my mind means a warrior without moral, works best. I've tried different mindsets, and it's also possible that they don't play much of a role. But unfortunately, chess brings a violent side form people at least on this site.

We should appreciate the beauty and philosophy of this game rather than trying to prove who's best! I enjoy it greatly, when 'chess comes to life'. That can happen by an otb match against your dad outside when the sun is shining, drinking coffee. Or at a bar playing with friends. It can even happen during online/chess, when someone is trying to crush you. Or when you watch others trying to crush each other. I think Carlsen has this magical ability to make chess interesting. Chess is alive in him. I also think that ChessNetwork is doing a good job promoting chess! Especially watching his quick games are inspirational! Too bad there's too many arrogant people on this site nowadays, which makes playing unenjoyable. Chess is alive in him too! Yeah, and I totally wrote too much.

Let's celebrate these moments!

Thanks Leo5.

Would the reverse work ?

Not without some sort of disqualification I imagine. :)

In spite or perhaps because of her drunken stupor, trysts pierced through the ruse and growled, "Not if you were the last monkey on earth, Bobby Fischer."  ~Alexander Alekhine~

Trysts vomited then whipped out a pistol.  "Draw!" ~Alexander Alekhine~
