At some times, it makes me tired, exhausted, frustrated, but at others it's the most satisfying and fulfilling thing which I ever came across.

A solid 5/10.

I reckon the positive and negative social and reasoning aspects of the game will tend to amplify what your inherent qualities are. So it isn't good or bad. That's relativistic, but then, everything is. I'm kind of glad I've had these very strange two years to rediscover something I loved as a kid, and then lost time for. But then it's been a tough time for me in ways, and hellish for some, with awful consequences. Good and bad are evident in everything, Grasshopper.

Chess is bad until you get good at it.

Playing the game of chess is worth being in the world of chess.

I think it's awesome, because you learn strategy.

It is a great game, even game.  First move only matters to the top level players.

Help the mind, concentration, memory, and mental health, except for people like Bobby Fisher.

hi

NachtigaII

Personally, I have wielded chess as a tool of tremendous evil and destruction.  I have used it to completely obliterate both my enemies and the innocent alike, convicted killers to entire families... yet I never get bored of playing it.   There may come a point where the name of the game changes, but the game will still be the same.  I am not a man of blood, and god is my witness that in all my wars I have never been the aggressor.  My enemies have always been the authors of their own calamity across the 64 squares.

Mr Nachtigall, I completely and thoroughly enjoyed comment. Humor is so rare among chess players.  This old geezer thanks you.
