Is Elometer accurate?

Has anyone in here tried it? According to this site my ELO is calculated at 1511, with a 95% confidence interval of [1354...1667]. That dont seem so accurate since on this site i am around 1000 in blitz and in rapid i am floating around 1050 and 1130. 500 points difference is a massive difference in chess. Did it score you guys accurately?

No, it's wildly inaccurate. There are many previous threads on it.

I just took the test.

elometer.net result: 1902

Chess.com correspondence rating: 1902

It’s a little spooky that it is an exact match to my current correspondence rating but I think it is a fluke and is certainly way higher than my real strength. I did take my time on the puzzles so it makes sense that it would be closer to my slower ratings. I am terrible at speed chess.

Have not played enough tournaments to know for sure but based on where I stack up in local clubs, I am probably around 1600 OTB in classical time controls with occasional magnificent excursions to 1900 and also occasional disaster excursions to <1000 haha.

So maybe randomly partially accurate at times if you subtract 300 points? 😆 Fun regardless.

if Elometer is accurate thenThis is my rating. I am really proud. That makes me better than 99.98% of all united states players

chessking8244

And I had no help.

chessking8244

Basically I am underrated because I have only played in two tournaments

VoidCannon

It's terribly innacurate. It shows 2308 to me

bla_w_gy

Yeah, it's horrible.  I am a 1050 in rapid and it guessed I am 1500 or whatever

DrewGainer

It's not that bad. I'm 1200 in rapid and it guessed 1500, which is fair because I took as much time to try and solve the positions as I would for a puzzle, and my puzzles rating is 2060.

bla_w_gy

not everything's about you drew

DrewGainer

It's not that bad for me, not necessarily for other people. I hope you don't think you're outing me or something by using my first name! That's a bit childish.

bla_w_gy

to everybody who's thinking about reporting me don't worry i know @DrewGainer in real life im just making a joke and he knows it

If you have a blitz of 2000 and a puzzle rush of 35 then 2308 is really close. It also shows that you understand quite a lot of chess.

I got 1437 man, I only have 560 here but chess.com elo is also slightly inaccurate, just not to a degree where a 900 point difference makes any sense.

Haha, I wish. I scored a 1920 with a confidence level going down to a 1745 minimum. I'm 1131 in FIDE..
