this loser  may have violated our Fair Play policy - it has been noted and (they may have their account restricted)

we see this when a loser disconnects deliberately or lets the clock run out in  a losing position.

do they really punish/ban or anything like these those kind of people?

they literally only stop them from finding a game every five minutes. In other words, they have to wait 5 minutes untill they can find a new game. I know this because I recieved a restriction from resigining from situations exactly as you describe after getting fed up with waiting for the clock to run out when they wouldnt take their turn

5 days is better I agree - but how can you make sure they disconnected because they were losing and not because their internet dropped for example.

Keep in mind guys that our Live Chess player pools (the groups in which you are matched) are sensitive to these factors over time. People who disconnect will tend to be matched with people who disconnect, etc. Stay classy and, if there's nothing wrong with your own Internet connection, you will *generally* be matched with quality opponents!

This one time, my opponent blundered his queen away in the opening and promptly offered me a draw (this was a rated game mind you). I declined the offer of course, but he kept spamming draw offers instead of playing the game out or simply resigning. Eventually, he claimed to have my IP address and threatened to give me a computer virus if I didn't accept a draw. Some people just have no shame.
