Is it a mistake to utilize the King?

Yes.  If you remove him from the board before the game begins you can't lose.

Notice it is wrong, this isnt a example of why the white king should move, its rather about how black should never play that pawn, overall black made huge mistakes here.

You better read something about basic opening ideas, move some pawns, try to castle early and dominate the center, dont pullout your queen to early, and for the rest have some luck, luck like this game doesnt happen often black went wrong two times here.. (if black wouldnt move those corner pawns, white had lost his castle option and would be in a bad situation since the king could be pinned taking the queen.. bad strategies here...

Who first thought of the bongcloud. Maybe someone needs to highlight the positive effect if they are even there.

Using the king activly in the opening is often a bad idea. If the centre is totally closed, and there is no way to open it without sacrificing alot of material, it's sometimes a good idea to keep him in the centre.

Using the king activly in endgames is very importent, and in very rare examples, he is used to attack in the middlegame. It's ONLY and remember ONLY!!! if the opponent has NO way to attack the king. Attacking a king in the centre in the middlegame is very easy. Just remove his path to safety, and he'll be dead long before the endgame.

the whole purpose of Ke2 was to get black to overextend, hoping he wouldn't see the bishop on d3

and it worked!!!!  so tough on you guys with the engine analysis!

the fat lady has had her say (or song)

anyway white could have played 3.Qh5+ g6 4.Qxg6+ but that's got nothing to do with early central development of the King

Pure Genius!!!!

Once again ty for setting everyone straight and enlightening me.

Cheers!!!
