Hello guys, I play  a lot of chess on chess.com, Sometimes I win sometimes I lose when I win and get a rematch I understand the reason behind it, The other dude wants to clear his name or maybe he thinks I played badly and he thinks  he might win if he gets another chance but sometimes I lose by stupid mistakes or I just don't know a certain opening and how to response and people just send rematch requests I think its bad manners to win and be the one to send the rematch request am I right or I am just thinking the wrong way do you guys ever send a rematch request after winning or annihilating your opponent is so may you please tell me why and also share your opinion on the subject I really want to know if it BM (bad manners) or not

Mabye not, if they sucked and you wanted more points sure. But normally it gives them a chance to redeem themselves.

Playing a rematch is normal, regardless of a win or a loss, it gives each player a game of playing white & a game of playing black.

Having said that if player A annihilated player B, then I suppose it would be good manners to let player B decide whether to offer a rematch, if I were player B I would & hopefully I would've learnt from my mistakes from the 1st match wink.png

I see nothing wrong with it myself. If I lose I sometimes just don’t want to play them again because I get so upset with myself.

I don’t really care if it’s bad manners or not, if I feel like rematching I’ll offer one, if not then I won’t, irrelevant of whether I won or lost.

Yes. Playing chess is bad manners, because you try to destroy your opponent instead of working together with him.

no I don't think it's bad manners to request a rematch. but I don't think it's bad manners to decline a rematch whatever the reason.

Sometimes you win and ask a rematch to give the other guy a second chance - or simply because it's more fun to play many games with the same person. Sometimes you also get to chat, analyze, banter, etc.

winners should never ask for a rematch - it goes against all gentlemanly conduct

Perhaps the winning player likes your style and wants to see how you play as white/black?  I think chess.com rematch switches the color.  Kind of like a entirely new opponent.

just look at soccer. Does any of the teams ask for a rematch? No.

But in chess, white has an advantage.

Also, in real tournaments, soccer, basketball, and chess, the teams/players play several games to try to balance out any unfair advantage or irregularities.
