Is it better to do Alekhine Defense modern variation or should I do exchange variation?

I love Alekhine Defense. I have seen videos with it and it appeals to me for it use of broadening White's pawn structure. My rating is 867 and I want to know if I should go modern or exchange.

Based on your rating, youre better off sticking with opening principles:

Control the center.

Develop toward the center.

Castle.

Connect your rooks.
