Is it BM to try flagging your opponant when in a clearly loosing position?
Now im not talking about being 1 pawn down, after 20 moves, but rather 2 or 3 pieces.

Depends on the time control and how long is left. I think it's never bad in bullet.

I have lost a lot of games that way. It's highly annoying but I guess it's part of the game.

The clock is part of the game!

I don't think I've ever had an opponent resign when there's a chance they could win on time. I was a little annoyed last week when my opponent and I were in an opposite bishop, clearly drawn position and rather than taking my draw offer he shuffled around because he had more time than me. He won on time, and I didn't think it was very classy, but as the above comment says, the clock is part of the game.

What's "loosing"?

Sounds more like an issue of a lousy game platform. If you truly had a drawn position, it should have automatically called a draw due to insufficient material. Of course, you could be stretching the truth of the situation a little bit, and that's why your opponent was able to beat you on time.

Also, BM = Bongcloud Master

BM=Bad Manners, but i am talking about lets say blitz or bullet, and they throw away their queen, cause they dont play to win, they play for their opponants to loose on time.
I guess "just beat them then" is a valid response, but not always that easy, specialy for us lowrated blitz/bullet ppl

Extra_white

I mean, even when you have a +10 advantage, time is still a factor, but i mean, there is no way they can possibly win in that situation (besides time) in my oppinion thats BM, but i also see the other side ofc, cause "time is a factor"

AndBell

Thats the whole point of bullet, blitz, rapid, etc. If you dont like losing on time choose longer games.

Extra_white

Yes i understand that, just wish the focus was making good moves fast, instead of banking on your opponant loosing on time

whats a full form of a BM?

BM = bad manners.
My question was if it was BM to play souly for time, even when 20 points behind in a chess game. Even if your opponant only have king and pawn left, and you have full board, you could still loose on time (this obviously wont happen but the point still stands).

You ever hear a titled player ever whine about getting flagged on a stream? No, because they know it’s part of the game.

Not whining at all, purely a question of when ppl should resign and not.

If it's bad manners to do whatever it takes to win on time then it's also bad manners to do whatever it takes to win by checkmate.

Chiranjib20071

Look, winning on time in losing position cannot be said as bad manner as the clock and the time is also part of the match!

BM = Big Momma.

Gimfain

time management is part of the game but I switched to playing with time increment so that you can't win by flagging tactics.
