Is It Legal?

Hi all!

I've always felt my bishop game is weak. I always overlook the diagonals. Trying to work on tactics blindfolded has reassured me how weak my bishop vision is.

Have a weird idea, but want to make sure it's allowed. Often use a real bored when playing slow online chess.. Can I sit at the board diagonally?? Lol. Thanks!

Are you asking if you can sit diagonally during OTB games?  haha that is an interesting question.  My instinct simply is that it won't help you as much as you think; simply work your visualization. During games, pay extra attention to the bishop moves.

As for a direct answer to your question, I imagine it wouldn't be allowed - especially if you are doing it in an extreme manner.  It could be considered disruptive.  Also, it may have you too close to the next board which would almost certainly be considered disruptive.

Just my thoughts.

Magnus had the same problem. Before Fischer died, he told young Carlsen to turn his head. And you can see where that got him.

Nice fake news haha.  I can't believe I almost believed it.  Then I remembered that Fischer disappeared long before Magnus was even born.
