Is it possible to get one's FIDE ID, rating and other info removed from FIDE?

It is not possible. Otherwise fraud schemes involving people who get a high initial rating, then lose it, would have become even more popular.

Can someone explain what "sandbagging" is.  I know it involves lowering your rating by throwing games, but why is this an advantage?

Some tournaments are based upon rating divions, if a 2400 player sandbags his rating to compete in a 1400-1600 competition, he has a fairly huge chance of snatching the money prize in that division.

once rated always rated. you cant remove it. I had my last rated game 15 years ago. If I go play a tourney now I am still rated what I was 15 years ago.

Are they giving stocks and bonds as prizes now?
