Unless you are good at chess and also good at penning your ideas about chess and are also a good coach, then you can make a lot of money. So, I retract my claim of 10,000 hours. Your chances have to be better than mine. Still, I don't believe it's possible to reach 2600 from 1600 in a year (Carlsen went from 900 to 1900 in his first year of training, but then it took him another 4 years to achieve GM title).
