Is it worthwhile getting Chess Assistant 14?

I wanted to get Chess Assistant 14. I really don't have too much money to throw around and wanted to know if it is actually worthwhile. Apparently you get 6 million games plus 68000 annotated ones.

Chess Assistant is the real deal, but 15 is out, so why 14?  Has a reputation as being not real user friendly, but has a very powerful search function.  More bang for the buck than ChessBase.  I prefer simpler to learn like HIARCS.

Have you used Chess Assistant? What are some of the useful features of it.

I have the Gigaking database, which I loaded into Chess Assistant (11or 12) so I could search by position.  Very slick.

Can anyone tell me if Chessbase has a search by position function that is easy to use?

Ok which should I buy, Chessbase 13 or Chess Assistant 15? Also when is Apple going to get something like this for MAC?
