It is obvious to any half decent player that Neil is MUCH better at chess than the 420 guy. He is good at blitz, rapid and has a decent daily rating. Moreover, looking at some actual games indicates that he is a quite decent player. The 420 guy on the other hand is either a total beginner or just a weak player. Do not waste your time on him Neil. You could probably give him knight odds and win.

Knight odds? He'd absolutely beat me with rook odds in blitz, and occasionally in long games. Why did you think I was under the impression that I might be better at the game than the ~2150 blitz on here? That you could even think he and I are comparable in any regard right now is flattering but entirely ridiculous.
Some of you really have things twisted: That someone has a high chess rating does not make them more wise, intelligent, or better at OTHER THINGS than someone of a lower chess rating lol. So, my opinion on the professionalism of a coach is probably infinitely more qualified than Neil's since my experiences outside of Chess include sales, marketing, acting, and actual video production and sales online. I could be a 300 FIDE and my opinion on that could also be quite well qualified. Do you think you are following this now? So, let's take Giancarlo Stanton from the New York Yankees. He's probably never even learned how the pieces move in Chess (almost definitely hasn't). He can still educate you guys on how to properly approach an at bat in baseball. Obviously.
Further, some of you remind me of that South Park episode with the guys who do NOTHING but ski (absolutely obsessed with it) completely tearing down Stan because he can't hang with them in a skiing challenge. He's never gone skiing - how could he? If someone's playing Chess with a coach, books, tournaments, review, analysis, etc for years and someone else has never done any of that - it's kind of silly to sit and look at the latter and say "look, the other guy's better than you!". Again: Just total ego padding.
Do you know what Neil is doing in real life? Maybe he is good at other thing too? I for sure do not know.
I also do not know whether gingerˋs videos are good or not. I have never watched any chess video, I never had a coach, and I red one half chess book in my life. I also did not do any tactics problems. So for sure both of you are much more informed on the topic than I am.
You implied that Neil just plays 30/0 and only wins on time by playing defensively and building a fortress. That is nonesense. I pointed out that he is good at fast games but also decent at slow games (daily). If you would stop insulting people, maybe the threads would stay on topic. Sorry.

Simon WIlliams is one of the reason I began to learn to play chess again after a break of 25 years, I like his work very much.
