Because I seem to be losing games with black pieces more, and yes if you know how to play better with black ,then please share your expertise 🙏

I think so. It is small. But statistically, and over a long time period, white tends to win more often than black. White moves first and may also have a psychological advantage.

Before the first move I see some chess engines say White has a 0.1 advantage or something like that...point is, maybe but not much

If you can spoil the opening white plays and prefer, and bring him into unknown lines, then you have an advantage as black.

Maybe your problem with the black pieces is that white plays openings you are not familiar with as a white player?

I think more players are more uncomfortable with Black (probably having practiced more White openings and stuff) which lead to the overall statistical higher win rate for White. First move advantage has nothing to do with it.

white has an advantage because both players start from very bad positions

To be honest, If both sides play the best, then it would be a draw.

Theoretically speaking yes, But practically so, not as much especially at the club player lever. Read Mihai Suba's "Dynamic Chess Strategy" and Andras Adorjan's works on black with the "Black is OK" trilogy and "Black is Back!: What is White's Advantage Anyways"

I agree with the above (except for #5, sorry, but glad you manage to find it advantageous).

It's best to play a rematch, playing 1 game each side wink.png
