depends on what kind of "rules" you are talking about. the current piece movements have been in place for well over 100 years. but rules on draws, tournament protocol, etc, have changed. they change frequently.
what i mean is the movements of all the pieces or like a special move of a pawn which is en pasant like that.
Those way the peices move haven't changed much since the Spanish Inquisition

Does the program have a "cheat" setting. Some players might like to practice that way.
