I'm talking about the positions in which you have one or more passed pawns, so you sacrifice your Queen in the hope that you'll be up in material once you've Queened the passed pawn. Like this:

Yes, they are connected passed pawns. In terms of tactics, I've seen tactics involving connected passed pawns called "advanced pawns" tactics.

I agree. It could also be a sound sacrifice knowing that you will get back the queen. Maybe even simplification.
