wah?
Is there such thing as "luck" in chess?

I like playing Blitz's so far I've done pretty good. Recently during ten minute games the internet only cuts out when I am close to winning. It is so frustrating! and I lose because my time ran out.

[...now move on to 4...]
bro shut up
Hmmm, people are going to think I scripted this.

guys i reccomend not writing entire essays because at this point i literally just skip them. I am more likely to read @ChessAGC_YT comments than urs lol

AGC's big thing in life: pawing Dio's leg.
And three letter words?
lol wah mid bro ....
Hahahaahaahah.
What's bringing this on?
Wait. Could it be .... 'Dio' has three letters! That's it!!

You are thinking you are the intended audience for these essays? I see.
Well shoot, you caught us. Ok, pack it in everybody...Superstar104 (yes, *the* Superstar104 with the rescue mutt avatar) is not happy with our offerings. Bring forth the minstrels whilst we re-tool our whole entertainment lineup...

You forgot "how" . The foray into 4 was brief, but he dutifully tried when asked.

Funny. !!!
And there's always the forum subject too.
If 'mathematical constructs' are to be totally dominant then one could argue 'no luck'.
But - that's not the case.
Posted like this in another forum but this is the main forum for it:
-------------------------------------------
The subjective exists. Desire. The drive to survive.
To protect one's family. Emotions. Even in common everyday life the subjective is an enormous 'set'.
Subjective 'perception' is a subset.
Its called ... Reality.
Some relevant factors: Evidence.
If you compare the subjective with mathematical constructs -
such constructs have no stronger basis for actual existence than subjectives do.
If one were to look through the universe could you find anything that is purely 'two'?
How about pi?
Degrees of reality/unreality: the physically concrete is primary.
Numbers can describe but are secondary.
And there's the ethereal. Things like 'reverse time travel'.
Point: Numbers don't 'win' over subjectives as far as existence is concerned.
------------------
Does anybody care?
Yes. On both.
Unless you're in a coma.
Wait - coma has four letters.

TikTok brains are taking over, technology has defeated us.

Seniors are safer from Tik Tok than younguns' ....
But technology spreads things like flat-earthism and its bigger cousins.

Reasonable: announcing that particular kinds of posts are skipped by the announcer.
'Far out dude': announcing that members should design their posts according to that particular announcer's preferences.
What motivates such suggestions?
Is it amusing? Sometimes.
Its a 'center of the universe' position.
Usually comes from a very small percentage of male teenagers.
But there are exceptions.

there is luck in chess
Of course.
But there are elements of the game that themselves have no luck in them.
And people have opinions about 'skill'.
So it can become quite a conversation.

They're used to being experts on the trends on and being on a constant feedback loop. TikTok only gives them what they want. When they see something that doesn't give them quick dopamine, they go like "eghh!".
The computers are imperfect too.
They wouldn't be - if chess was 'table-based' solved and computers have access to the tablebases.
Then they would just be displaying a series of known positions leading to whatever.
If 'white wins' with a particular first move or moves - then black could resign immediately and save time.
If 'black wins' regardless of which of white's 20 options for first move is played -
which is very unlikely - then should white play a move?
He could resign before moving perhaps.
Unless there is to be very little time given to the computers to move.
Then chance and luck could work their way back in.
It wouldn't be much of a game though.
Auto-racing could be better to watch.
---------------------------------------
One could talk forever about assignments of meanings to 'in' and 'external' and 'internal'.
And how and where the terms are applied.
I maintain that at the center is
1) mathematical construct of rules with no elements of chance or luck ...
2) the playing out of those rules between opponents in the form of games and with clocks too - very very much meaning there's luck in chess
3) chess is not solved which means chance and luck would also apply to computers playing the game too.

I have not 'changed' and neither has optimissed or Dio.
But policy appears to have changed somewhat following a recent incident.
Perhaps it is a temporary change.
Lol!
If one is losing an argument or there is a strong case against one's argument or position - then sometimes there's desperation. And it gets personal.
And then people talk back. Which is allowed - up to a point.
---------------------------
I think @Optimissed has changed his policy somewhat. For now.
So I've changed mine somewhat. For now.
As for Dio - or for anybody - I can't speak for him.
He's usually right though. Nearly always. And righteous too.
And regarding a mathemtical construct of rules - there can't be any luck in that.
But - maybe there's still 'argument room' if one wants to talk about 'in' and 'external' and 'internal'.
------------------
a situation can develop where one wants to be 'everybody's friend'.
Caution there. Because it leads to trouble.
Some are very good at being neutral. But that has its own issues.
