Is using computers ok for daily games???

Whether it's OK or not is really just up to you. But why?
Using the computer won't do you any good; you'll just be truly wasting time vs wasting time playing chess.

More seriously, it's considered cheating if you use an engine as an aid. But books are OK. So if you're reading a PDF on your computer, it should be fine. I'm not sure what the difference is between an engine and a database.

Is it OK to use against your friend every once in while??

You're using a computer against your friend?
Roll out the Terminator theme track.
I'm just kidding. Cheating is illegal, okay, and punishable by law.
Example: let's say that this was an official sanctioned tournament of sorts, with Monaay on the line. You win, but you cheat (thumbs up for cheating to the top), and then you get caught and you have to pay it back, but you've spent it all already on who knows what. Now you've got a summons and court date on your hands, all because you cheated.

No, using computer assistance in your games is considered cheating, and can get you banned.

If you and your friend both want to play a game where you use computers, make it unrated. Computer assistance is permitted in unrated games if both players agree to permit it. Otherwise it is considered cheating and your account will be closed.
