Whichever aligns with your goals. If you’re serious about chess and want a title, you should practice otb classical a lot. If you’re just playing a couple online blitz games in the bathroom from time to time, not much point. I do think that all casual players should play in a tournament at least once in their life just for the experience.
I feel chess online is less stressful versus real life chess. In person chess you don't have people trash talking you or trying to intimidating you.
