it's 2017

Hey! I'd just like you to know that I too was stuck at 1400 for about a year. Constantly going up and down between 1300 and 1450. I used to think people in the 1500-1600 range as gods who play so quickly and accurately. How I improved was I started solving tactics as much as I could till the basic tactics like forks and skewers became almost subconscious to find (no effort). From then I reached to 1500 easily as the Average 1500 player blunders in the middle game according to me. I'd recommend reading the book "The amateurs mind" by IM Jeremy Silman. That book took me from 1400 to 1500+ as it showed the flaws in my amateur thinking and how I feared an imaginary attack when my opponent started pawn storming me. Good luck on your journey to 1500 :)
