14 days per move?
as in (14 x 60 x 2) = 1,680 days (4.6 years!) per game?
A bit longish for my taste.

It is simply so people do not have to log in every day or so to move, people can make far more frequent moves; but are not tied to their tournament games but have time for all their other activities as well. Simply so no one loses a game due to a time limit and "no vacation" is required...
