do not beat them in chess, let your students beat you, so they can learn the basics and have fun.

Yes. I do that.

I'm a teacher and currently have 5 students. I'm not the best teacher, and I'm not famous. I don't care about that though. I was wondering how to entertain my students, as they're under the age of 8. Thanks!

Put on clown makeup and make fart jokes.

Maybe that's a good idea, thanks!!

And fart if the kids dont get the jokes.

Again, I'm teaching total beginners who don't know how to move a single piece. Thanks for encouraging me.

King....good for you. It's tough to be  teacher letta alone a chess teacher. I would recommend having your Tech savvy 8 year olds download the free app "Dr. Wolf" to augment your lessons. You rock!

Yes, you really do.

I don't remember much from when I was 8, (which says bad things about my memory since I'm only 13) but I do remember liking cartoons and saying, "Bro that's so dooooooope!" Try bringing up topics like cartoons during indoor recess. My second grade teacher read a story to us every day during lunch, so maybe try that.

Try some chess, too. I'm in my coach's homeroom in school, and his lessons to class are hilarious because they're chess references and only a quarter of the class gets them lol.

You can teach them about en peasant move, that will surprise them, they will actually ask you, sir is that a legal move, is that move not considered as cheating. Try that..

They are in for surprise.....haha

bughouse and crazyhouse, are very challenging variants of chess game, but one of them is a team game, 2 vs 2.
