a user named The_Magnus_Carslen just played me 12 bullet games in a row. He was rated over 2200 after only opening an account earlier today. He destroyed me like I've never seen before. Could this be the real Magnus???

No doubt it was him and 12 games bullet match against Justinbart was an important part of Carlsen's preparation to Anand.

Yeah...maybe he just wanted to have some fun crushing crappy palyers like me for a while...lol

Meth0dist...you played the same person but you're much better. Are you being sacrastic or do you think it was him for real?

I think he was sarcastic, most likely not the real magnus carlsen

Banned.

Anyone with a super GM in their name who doesn't have the red letters is normally a cheat.

Justin, no doubt it was an engine. I could believe it was Magnus because the style was similar (playing non-forced positions, tending to endgame) but obviously Magnus has a little more important things to care about right now. Also, the guy's level of concentration was incredible, inhuman - I doubt human can maintain that level for more than an hour.

How does someone have time to check an engine in bullet?

Relatively easy. ^

But he replied to a comment for me. I didn't have time to check the comment because I was on the iPad and couldn't switch screens. I agree, no time to do bullet with an engine. Unless chess.com was doing it.

The_Magnus_CarIsen account closed.

i see in Meth0dist bullet database, he started playing  The_Magnus_CarIsen at rating 2270. he lost 12 consequetive 1|1 games. Can anyone use engine in 1|1 game??

who closed the account? chess.com or the player?

Avatar of justincredible37

To me, if it was the real Magnus, it was as though he created an account for a few hours just to play some regular people as a break to his intesive training.

Plus, there's no way he could sky-rocket in his rating so fast unless it was a bot. If there was a person that good, I doubt they would impersonate him. They would just use a real name if they were that good.

So kiloNewton is right to ask who closed the account...the user or chess.com. That would be interesting to know. If the player, I'm leaning to think it was real.

Magnus already has a Chess.com account, its called Magnus Carlsen.

Yeah you doubters are probably right. But who wouldn't WANT it to be the real deal? LOL

Just posted this to find out if anyone knew anything about it.

Thanks everyone!

Argh...this misconception again?  Yes, people can and do use cheating software that makes engines moves on their behalf in blitz and bullet time controls.

Was he wearing Donald Duck hat?

Yeah because if someone plays good moves or has a high rating on chess.com in blitz/bullet despite having a lower rating OTB they must be a cheater, they couldn't possbily be blitz/bullet stronger players..
