I just started playing a few months ago and I "think" I am doing well. I have roughly 240 5min blitz games under my belt and I have a rating of 689. My glicko rating is 27. One thing I have noticed is as my glicko rating went down I was matched against people with many more games played than me. The last few games I checked my opponents stats and they have like 3to 4 thousand games played. Still roughly 50% win rate like myself..... I literally started playing for the first time at the start of this year. I'm really enjoying playing. I am addicted lol

If youre serious about improvement, play longer time control games like G30 or longer.
Thanks, I will try that soon. The thing I've found is that playing the fast games allow me to encounter many more games and openings in a short time. So far I'm seeing many of the same openings and honing in on how to handle and take advantage of them. When your opponent breaks out the queen right away for example. I used to get wiped out in the beginning but I've learned how to trap and take it just about every time.
