Okay... you don't really need a "key squares button". What you need to do is read the description of the step prior to pressing "Try again" button.

For example on "Meet the Queen" task you need to click on the g3 after you clicked on d6 and then pressed the "Try again" button. Disregard the instruction as they aren't updated and always say the same thing.

TL;DR

"White's queen is on the d3-square. Click the KEY SQUARES button to see all 25 squares it can move to. Now move it to the d6-square." -> move to d6 -> Excellent! Now click "Try Again" and move the queen to the g3-square. -> Try again -> "White's queen is on the d3-square. Click the KEY SQUARES button to see all 25 squares it can move to. Now move it to the d6-square." -> move to g3 (even though instructions say to click on d6)

On iOS:

-left hand bottom menu

-settings

-toggle on "Show legal moves"

then click on the piece and it will show you all the legal moves you an play with a piece.

Still does not work on iOS or even in browsers. No Key Squares button and the "show possible moves" suggested by someone is only a hack; they still need to fix the tutorial. No Key Squares button on Kindle accessing chess.com via Safari browser or on Windows desktop and browser. How have they not fixed this in a year? Seems they're more interested in being a blog than a teaching site. Definitely won't be paying for anything.

When all sites pulled Java in 2015 because of security issues, chess.com did too. Unfortunately, they lost some functionality in the lessons, like the key squares buttons.

I am sure that someone will eventually figure out how to replace the functionality. However, there have been other fires requiring their attention. Fixing the 4,000 lessons is not a trivial task.

Still not showing on the lessons on any browser, funny that this was raised 5 years ago in 2015. But you can still do everything apparently so not a major issue.
