King Side VS Queen Side Minor Pieces.. Which side is the most important?

Hi There.

I'm pondering about kings side vs queen side minor pieces. Which one is more important, in general?

I have a feeling the king side is better for the knight because it can protect the king better and also jump forward or exchange with say a bishop, and even score a pawn or two.

I've gathered that keeping your own colored bishop is more useful.

Obviously there are a million ways to win a game and sometimes the queen side knight or opposite colored bishop will have a deciding factor in a win.

What are your thoughts?

I never really thought about it in that way. I guess it all depends on what's happening on the board. Where the attacks are happening, who has the initiative, where the vulnerable pieces are, etc.
