After 2...d5, the correct move for White is 3.exd5, which leads to a playable position for both sides. Playing 3.fxe5?? loses immediately to 3...Qh4+!, a rare exception to the rule about bringing the queen out early; White will lose at least a rook with absolutely no compensation.
King's Gambit move 4+
After recently doing a game review in which 1. e4 c6 2. f4 d5 3. e5 c5 was played we come to move 4 and a common position for KG.
On move 4 I typically will go c3 preparing for D4. The system seems to vacillate between 4 development moves.
What do the humans think? Nf3 seems to best follow opening principles. Am I getting ahead of myself or making a good move by going 4. c3?
PLEASE DISREGARD AND SKIP TO POST#5...updated from move 3 to 4...
What do you guys think about 3. e5 after 1. e4 c6 2. f4 d5 as opposed to
3. fxd5
I hope I got that right. Sheesh
