My chess games are invading my dreams, especially if I am under the hammer. Tell me this is normal.

Sounds pretty cool tbh. I wish I dreamt more about chess.

That's very perceptive rich as I have only taken up chess again after a 30 year lay-off! I love this site - play from home whenever you like...ideal for me.

Nothing wrong about dreaming of your Lady!

Without fail, if I see a checkboard pattern, I immediately count out to see if I have an 8x8 grid available. Like I'll be in a bathroom, and the floor has tiles, and I'll think to myself... "Well, if I really needed to, I could play here. The right pieces, I could do this."

The lady in the video is like the lady in the poem:

"I miss my husband so," the woman cried;

And so, just one more shot at him she tried.

I don't have chess dreams (I wish I did though) but I had a funny thing happen. I was playing chess with my dad once and I had to go to the restroom. I went and so I told him what moves I was playing by telling him the coordinates of the board (blindfolded chess I guess). So, the point of the story is that I was looking at the bathroom's tiled floor to remember a chessboard. I thought that was really funny... of course later I lost the game.

I had a dream about chess today, I cant remember what exactly. All I know is that I had just finished reading this months chesslife before going to sleep.

Reading Chess Life does sound like some kind of nightmare.

Or a comedy.   That title sounds so goofy I'll have to take a look at it.   Is it full of pics of guys wearing sunglasses and posing next to giant chess pieces?   Are there lots of those sniffable cologne ads?

My best nightmare was about a green demon that immobilized me and then stole my soul or whatever they do after they scare the crap out of you.  I thought I'd screamed and gotten help and woke up, but then IT CAME BACK and I realized I'd dreamed the waking up part and I was still dreaming and the demon had retaken control of the dream world.  Years later I found out that this is a famous dream that lots of people have identically because they did a whole story about cases of it dating back all the way to the middle ages.  I don't know if that makes it cool or creepier than ever.
