So what about this: https://chess24.com/en/read/news/kramnik-and-topalov-bury-the-hatchet

Listen to the first three minutes of this Kramnik video, pretty insightful stuff :)
"Kramnik has an overwhelming score vs Topalov"
15-11, I think. Not too bad, beating Kramnik 11 times can always be compared to for example Kasparov and Anand beating him 13 times taken together. Topalov is in general a bit underestimated as a player, he won numerous super tournaments, was #1 longer than Anand and Kramnik, had the best first board TPR in two Olympiads with 20 years between them, and played a couple of very even title matches.

Now seriously, I agree with you. GM Iván Salgado states: 'the better Carlsen, the better Kasparov and the better Topalov are the three best players in history. The problem is Topalov only was able to mantaint that peak during two years'.
I'm 100% sure Kramnik would shake hands if it was offered to him, remember that!
Also, this comparison was hilarious hahahah! 100 years from now, people will only know Steinitz, Lasker, Capablanca... Fischer, Karpov, 13th Kasparov, 14th Kramnik, 15th Anand, 16th Carlsen... Topalov? Ah, challenger once (after googling him), "Talk to Charlie" guy...
Patzers memorise names, strong players study games.
Well, to be honest, those players are known because of variations named after them.
However, I agree his style is special and it's amazing Veselin is still in top form and strong player. But 'champion' part is bothering me. We have Formula 1 and Formula 3 in racing. I'd say he was Chess 3 ch.
