Legals mate plus huge analysis of e4 e5 nf3 nc6 bc4 nd4 trap

Not much to comment on here. Honestly, I find it funny to have the Blackburne played against me as it shows that my opponent is so afraid of the main lines that he would rather enter a line where he is at a solid disadvantage. I pretty much say sure, I have no problem playing with a solid advantage from the start of the game.
And as for the Legal's mate in the Italian, that comes about through an inferior set of moves from both players. It is rare that Nc3 is required early in the Italian. The mate is fun to pull off, but I would rather play strong moves instead.

Billwall you are correct that you can accept the pawn, but it is risky and I think black is better with perfect play.
I've had a few folks who have played 3...Nd4 against me. I just take the pawn.
Notice that while 5.Bxf7+ may be a good reply in the position, 5... Kd8 isn't. 5... Ke7 will keep the bishop under attack, and you will be left with material loss and positional disadvantage. Of course, it can be reverted if your opponent blunders, but that doesn't count for evaluating the move effectiveness, right?

I don't know if I like 5...Ke7 either. Perhaps with perfect play, maybe, but unless you are playing a master, I wouldn't worry about perfect play. I think Carlsen can beat anyone in the wolrd under 2600 with this variation as White. Lots of traps in this line and dozens of wins for White that I can find. Here is one.

Billwall not to fight, but stockfish says black is winning,11.Nc5 is a blunder losing th e game,11.Nf6 wins

I got your point, it is practical. Maybe good for the eventual tournament. But avoiding a line of play because it is "too hard" for you doesn't seem good from the learning standpoint. Of course everyone has his own idea of what is better for him or her to do, regarding the learning process. But there is all that "pragmatic" thinking nowadays, which seems very impoverishing to me.
Now about the actual variation:
With correct play white just wins a pawn.
I have won a few games with this trap against begginers.I'm going to show you another trap.( keep in mind I am just going to show you the mate in this next trap, there are other lines good for black if white plays smarter)
