   It's 1964 and ladies from various countries have gathered at the beautiful Georgian Black Sea resort of Sukhumi to vie for the coveted role of being the Women's World Champion Nona Gaprindashvili's official contender.

Alla Kushnir won the playoff early in 1965 but lost the championship match to Gaprindashvili  +3=3–7.

I wonder if international chess players find the exotic locales even more enticing than the competitions.
