I have left the site after my opponent, and they threaten me for abandoning.I think you just have to let the time run out.

Can anything be done about the annoying habit many people have of abandoning a game they think they've lost. I'm sometimes blocked out of the site for 20mins or so with no way I can see of moving to another game until they are timed out. If I leave the site I find I've been deemed to resign. What the other guy does in this dead time I've no idea.
