Obviously, it's not working for you.

You should join a group or get on a team so that you can start talking. Perhaps you can be helpful to younger players.

Chat rooms are popular with many players but there are a few strange personalities there.

Answering posts here is a nice way to help out too.

If you kill loneliness, it's friends and relatives will come looking for you.

There are already lots of groups and teams here. Why not just look at the ones here and join one which interests you? You play mostly "online chess" correspondence games here, which is exactly what many groups here offer. I'm sure there are many who would be happy to have you.

You're never alone when you play chess; you have 16 little friends.

don't look to chess to fulfill your need for good company and companionship. seriously, regardless of your personal beliefs, join a church group with people of similar age and interests. you'll have a better chance of finding what you need there.

Join the lonely hearts club band.

phudson

I'm a little surprised there's not a lonely heart's club band group. There is an Owner of a Lonely Heart group with no SA, no admins, and no members

DrSpudnik

Sounds like a happenin' place!

AlCzervik

I nominate PHud for SA of said group

phudson

I'm not sure I can handle the responsibility

my rating shows the fact that i need to study more, but with chess, im never lonely. ive made friends playing chess while in gardens and in jails, some of which lasted and some that didnt (which was good in some situations Wink) with that being said, pertinent or not, loneliness is a state of mind. the world is too large. life is around you constantly. you are really never alone. maybe without other humans around, but life ebbs and flows and engulfs you. try learning YOURSELF. theres probably alot to you worth discovering. just saying from personal expierence
