I made two videos about the chess in Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking-Glass. For those who are unaware, Alice is a pawn in the book and moves up the chessboard to become a queen. It is far from a serious game, but Carroll did supply the moves.
In the videos, I have fun analyzing the game. In the first video, I show how some moves at first glance appear to be blunders but are not blunders at all. I also include little quizzes along the way to see if you can spot a mate in three, say.
In the second video, I present my theory that Carroll had an alternative ending in mind, one that may be superior to the one in the book. (The book ends with a checkmate.) His, in my opinion, is faulty for ignoring a check, but it is more complicated than that.
