Loosing momentum on way to a win

Many a times I have lost the momentum in the game when I am on way to winning that game.Not the obvious easy win,of course,but say a win is looming because I have won substantial material but am still required to finish the game.This win has to be worked at but I say to myself why is the guy/girl not resigning and saving both of us time so that we can go our respective ways or play another game.This attack of laziness or fatigue or both has at times caused me to loose "almost won" games. Perhaps I do not like end game much,like all Indians perhaps I lack finishing power(?!).How to get that second wind? Any suggestions?
