Losing streaks - 200 points down in just a few days.

I hit around 1800 a few months back on rapid and sort of hung around that area for a while. I hit 1900 in rapid, and being happy with myself, I left it there for a while. Just got back into it recently (at least a bit more actively), and whaddya know, I drop by almost 200 points in a matter of a few days.

I've had several minor dips similar to the one I'm having right now, but it gets increasingly frustrating when going back to analyze games, only to realize you missed tactics or moves that you expect yourself to spot with a little bit of effort, and that takes a toll so hard on your ratings.

Huge fluctuations like this sometime makes it feel like improving beyond that one peak is nearly impossible.

Is this just something that happens from time to time or simply that you're starting to suck more at the game?

1. Absolutely this is not happens to you. Everybody who play chess had very bad losing streaks. This is normal. Even, in low elo, it happens.

2. Some people maybe can be suck at chess by playing more and more. If this happened to you just give a break and fresh your mind. In this time Dont forget to study chess and solve puzzles.

Nah it's normal, but usually, I tend to drop a lot of rating if I take a long break. When playing on tilt you always feel like you should be winning games, but in reality, you deserve to lose. You have to hit rock bottom, accept you are trash, and stop caring about not wanting to lose. You start to play better when you are not stressing about rating.
