Magnus is clearly the better player, he's been number 1 for a decade and a half, multiple world championships in all formats, its pretty ear who's better, even Hikaru would say that Magnus is definitely better than him, not trying to downplay Hikaru, he's a great player as well and currently number 2, but yea, Magnus is just better

I believe that Carlsen is better, he has been #1 for 15 years, and beat Vishy Anand, India’s chess champion for 37 years, and he has checkmated tons of people in his career as a chess grandmaster.
