Players expressions after first and second game showed their playing style as well as intentions. Carlsen was visibly embarrassed and disgrungtled for playing such short draws while Anand's happiness knew no bounds.

Please don't talk about what you don't know. You are saying this because you dislike Anand. Anand said to the media that he was sorry for playing short draws and will play more exciting chess in later games.

You are right. But how can I take him seriously when during press conference before the opening cermeony, he said that his answer about his seconds might be half truth (words to same effect).

And about me disliking Anand. Please don't talk about what you don't know. You are saying this because you dislike Carlsen.

FYI, I would seriously like Anand to win classical matches against Carlsen in the World Cup by outplaying him and not getting it to Rapid games.  He had his slight chance in the first game but went for the Short draw.

And please dont try to imply as others are repeating that people criticizing Anand dont know chess. To the extent of what he played in first and second game. I exactly know the theory and the alternate routes which cold have been very easily taken.

These personal attacks against Carlsen and Anand are completely unfounded. Both players are striving to win the match. Anand probably has more reason than Carlsen to win it in regulation because most people favor the younger player in rapid tie-breaks.

I haven't heard too many people describe Carlsen as a truly likeable fellow. They describe him as driven, a great chess player, and so on. He's not a bad guy, but he's no Anand. Anand is considered by just about everyone to be one of the great gentlemen of the sport. No chess professional has questioned their skill or desire to win the match.

I definitely want to see Carlsen win the World Championship, in 2016.

Carlsen has to be sharping his set of ........  for the kill. He might be thinking Anand trying to make a fool out of me. I hope that is true. I figure game 3 has to be the last of this draw stuff. Game 3 a long game but ends in a draw >> game 4 Fireworks!

Mark Crowther (TWIC) described Carlsen as likeable on FB when I said that he struck me as arrogant. Kasparov seems to find him charming.

Anand is one of the most likeable chess players ever. He even smiles while he discusses a loss.

Amen to 2016!

Expecting 3-4 decisive games might be more of a dream than a reality here. However, things could change when one of the players get the first win. At this point they are just waiting who blunders first or who plays into their prepared lines, but how long would they play like this?

It already looks like this Championshiop series will be defined by the rapid games. I hope not I still want to see some brilliancy being played. Don't we all?

3-4 decisive games looks almost certain at this point. How much things have changed in the last 4 days.

Kasparov and Karpov certainly have no problem accepting quick draws, Fischer on the other hand....

There hasn't been players with the fighting spirit of Fischer or Tal since....well, Fischer and Tal.

If you will look at the last two games of the world championship match you will see one of the strengths of Carlsen is he keeps grinding away at you and does not usually accept an early draw.

Grandmasters and super grandmasters fear him as they know he will keep on trying even in endgames which the computer says are even. This wears down his opponents. He has a great fighting spirit.
