It's for all those people who play Black. Variation starts after 2. exd5. It may lose a pawn but at least Black can get a safe, solid position, and develop the bishops to the 7th rank, where they can't get trapped. Ideally squares for black knights are also seventh rank. Try not to exchange anything.
