This is quite an interesting topic. What I think is that most likely, chess players are also mathematcians.
Math, much like chess, has everything to do with pattern recognition. This means that if one excells at chess, he has the potential to also be good at math, and vise versa, however the talent for pattern recognition (and insight) also requires knowledge of the subject. - Filier
This topic might have come along before,but what do you agree with? Does chess help you in math? Does math help you in chess?
Chess and math both have very strong connections. They both need brain power, they both need calculations. They both need quite some practice!
So, 'are (most) chess players also mathematicians? Do each one (maths or chess) give an advantage to the other?' What do you think?
