However I am thinking of an perfect engine that only plays against humans.
So it would get to the point where its rating is so high that it wins 0 rating points for a won game and loses a lot of points for a drawn game.
The rating would then fall and then reach some point of equilibrium, until humans became strong enough to draw against it more often.
What is the maximum theoretical Elo, i.e. if the game was completely solved and a computer always played perfect chess, what would its rating be?
