On your desktop mentally choose two points. An easy one is two icons.
Move your mouse from one to the other in one smooth fast motion.
If you overshoot, then decrease your mouse sensitivity. If you undershoot then increase.
After that practice for hours.

Your computer has settings...
May help, I had issues too until used this methodology.
1. Click piece you want to move,
2. Release mosue button.
3. Move mouse to desired square,
4. Click mouse.
Done, piece moved abcuratly.
