Mouse Slips

I have a really bad habit of clicking on the next piece I'm going to move and moving it around to check postions while waiting for my opponent to move, and once he moves I drop it back to the wrong spot it started in by mistake, anyone else have this happen to them, cost me a draw last game from what should have been a easy win.

If I accidently click on a piece that I don’t want to move, I usually just move the piece to an illegal square (Ex. On a square that is occupied by one of my own pieces). The app/website will return the piece to its initial space.

Hope this helps! =)

I would do it occasionally here and there until; i realized that if you right click while still holding whichever piece, it will return it to its previous position. A lot easier than placing it back.

@EdoubleU52 wow thanks for that tip I didn't know that I usually play 13 to 15 games a day and I have that happen almost once a day

I had this happen to me a number of times. But this is not the site’s fault. It is the users fault for making a slip of the mouse. You can practice accuracy with the computer on chess.com, or you can maybe use a better mouse which lets you have greater grip.

MOST importantly you can use the feature on the site which requires you to confirm a move before it is made. I don’t remember how to find this feature but I believe it is in the settings.

In slow games you should use manual analyze feature.
