"Earlier in Chess History the first World Champion William Steinitz was Jewish hailing from the Czeck Republic & his successor Lasker who held the World Title for 30 years was a German Jew. Lasker was an interesting fellow who was best freinds with Albert Einstein of e= mc ^  fame & they had much in common as Chess was just a hobby for Lasker since he made his living as a Ph.D in Mathematics. Lasker like Einstein had the foresight to bust a preemptive move & escape from the Nazis. Good move for him & good move for the Chess World.Of course Capablanca took the Crown from Lasker & never relinquished it.
