My Experience Here Has Been Negative

Unfortunately, my experience here has not been positive. It is a fact people cheat at online chess. If you don't agree, then why would chess.com have algos to detect cheaters? These algos exist because people cheat.

But it appears cheaters are getting smarter, using bots to assist them only when in a bind to avoid detection. This is how they make it look more natural. And this ruins the experience for honest players, and especially for people paying for a membership.

How is it that I can beat bots at higher ratings than the people I am playing against, but get crushed by many if not most of the chess.com members I play against? How is it that people can play like noobs in the beginning and suddenly play like experts in the middle of the game when they are in a bind? How is it that they can play like an average player throughout the game and suddenly pull off amazing tactics in the end and get checkmate with just a few seconds left on the clock? The only answer that makes sense to me is many of these people must be cheating.

And don't come back at me saying the problem is I suck. I may not be a great chess player, but I don't suck. I think we just need to be honest and agree that cheaters have found a way to game the system and get away with it.

Chess.com needs to find a better way to detect these people.

At the 1000 level, there's going to be very few members using disallowed resources. That said, discussions of cheating, potential cheating, or cheat detection are not allowed in the general forums. This type of discussion is only allowed in Cheating Forum club: https://www.chess.com/club/cheating-forum
