MyDinner With Brazil: Part 8

"My mother was Greek/Italian & my father was Dutch /Italian so that makes me a Dutch/Italian born in the Soviet Union 1960 near the Black Sea in Crimea an area where many Greeks & Romans (Italians) settled over 2,000 years ago. So no, I'm not Jewish Solo, as you've asked me if I am a couple of times in the past."  "No offense Brazil, no offense intended." I replied. "Only that you struck me as possibly Jewish though I can't quite nail down why."  "No offense taken." said Brazil. "Anyway I started off as a competitor in the Chess World but soon realized I would never be able to hang on the board with the big guys. So I utilized my connections to obtain a rare job as a "demonstrator" which allowed me to be around the Great players & make a few roubles as well. I travelled to all the Great Chess Schools of the Soviet Union, wherever my supervisors sent me. Being that I was very young, in my early teens, the whole experience was electyrifying for me though I knew I did not have the talent these Great ones had still I liked to be in that atmosphere & soak in the vibe. I tell you Solo some of the greatest minds of that century were in those rooms. I knew them well & I'm convinced many of them could have made their mark in many other fields had they so chosen. Absolutely first rate minds." said Brazil.  "Yes,  head & tails above the rest. I agree & anyone who honestly studies them should agree." I replied.
