Firebrand. Yes, that is the game in question. I realised I could have played Qxd5+. Ok the knight can block, but after QxN, that's the kind of mate I'm talking about. I wondered if it had a name.
i guess we could make up a name :-)
Without looking at the game, I think it is either the Butterfly mate or the Sandwich mate, or something like that.

the final position reminds me of the "Venetian Blinds Attack" when Rook(s) and /or Queen keep forcing / squeezing the opponent's King to one side of Board -- either vertically or horizontally. My friends called it this similar to the "blinds" on a curtain closing the lights one row at a time.

I missed it in a recent game and gave checkmate another way, but I've often wondered if there's a name for a checkmate where the King is trapped over 3 files by 2 rooks and a Queen. Really annoyed I missed it because I've often wanted to get a mate like that.
